A number of online publications were recently invited to the set of Resident Evil: Extinction in Mexico, and blog coverage is slowly surfacing online. So far I’ve found three blogs discussing their on set visits, but beware – some of the material can be very spoiler-y. An extract from IGN.com (my personal favorite of the blog coverages):

It was fun to see a happy-go-lucky Jovovich acting silly between takes, sometimes to the chagrin of the by-the-book Mulcahy. Jovovich embraced her role as the shoot’s de facto cheerleader. “I think that when I’m happy, definitely the rest of the crew’s happy, so I like to try to be up and motivating. Kind of keeps the morale up,” she said. “It’s been a hard move from Mexicali to here, so everyone’s kind of exhausted. Just trying to keep it light and nice on set.”

[...]Fehr was equally enthusiastic about the film. “I’m a lot more excited about this one than I was on the last in the sense that I just think this is going to be a better movie than the last one,” the actor explained. “I enjoyed doing the last one, but when I read the script and coming into Mexicali where we shot the dunes and all the rest of it, and seeing it, seeing stills of what the movie will look like. The feel of what the movie will look like. It’s beautiful. I think heat, desert, sand, all these earthy colors are very adventure-like. They give a different dynamic to a movie.”
