I have a bunch of Milla fashion news today, all based on the LA Times The Envelope, which has a lot of interesting things to report. Starting off with…
… Jovovich-Hawk, which is reportedly designing a Spring 2008 low-price collection for Target alongside other famed designers, such as Stella McCartney and Proenza Schouler. The designs will be regionally distributed – e.g. the McCartney designs will be available at Target Australia. :) Milla will reportedly be filming a TV advert for the collection in Los Angeles this winter, which will premiere at the February ‘08 New York Fashion Week. Here’s what Milla had to say on the project:
“Our Target line will have all our classic pieces: smock dresses, tunics, minis, all vintage-inspired, great prints. We took the things that sold the best for us but we’re doing it on a bigger scale. To be able to do it with a big company that can afford to do it for a good price so that real girls can afford it. That’s the reason we were interested.”
Furthermore, the article mentions a photoshoot Milla has recently done (pregnant – that’s the impression I got, at any rate) for Vogue Japan. I have no idea which issue the photoshoot is for, but if anyone has access to Japanese Vogue, do be on the lookout for a Milla photo spread (and if you can scan it for us, do get in touch with us!). :)
And finally, the article also reports that Milla will continue to be the face of Mango (although actress Penelope Cruz graces the current adverts), and will be designing a collection of evening gowns for the label this winter under her own name. Exciting news, if this is all true!
Cool. I can’t wait. My city is getting a Target this winter or next year. I can’t wait to the Jovovich-Hawk collection if they get it.
