Another gallery update today! We’ve been looking over our collection of movie pics of Milla Jovovich today, and have updated the gallery with a bunch of new and mostly HQ promotional stills and posters (+ some HQ replacements) from A Perfect Getaway (2009), The Fourth Kind (2009), The Fifth Element (1997), .45 (2006), The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (1999) and Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004). We also uploaded today some 20 HQs from a 2000 event we’d forgotten to add yesterday. Although this isn’t a particularly big update per se, many of the pictures we’ve uploaded today are rare and likely new to many. Have a look for yourself!

Parade magazine has a highly interesting interview with Milla Jovovich up on their website, in which discusses among other things parenthood, her 2006 movie .45 and the importance of controlling what your children see on TV. Definitely worth a look! Excerpt courtesy of Parade.com:

Take charge of what your children watch.
“I think parents need to take a lot more responsibility than they do about whether it’s OK for their children to go to Resident Evil or any other movie with violence or sex or whatever. It’s really easy to blame Hollywood for violence having an effect on kids, but movies would have no power if parents would just set their own standards. And it’s the same with video games.”

The video game that jump-started her career.
“Me and my brother Marco would play Resident Evil together and I said to him, ‘This is the perfect vehicle for me.’ I mean, Alice wears a tube top and a mini-skirt and she’s killing zombies. So when I first auditioned, I said to Paul [director Paul W. S. Anderson, her husband] ‘If I don’t get this part my brother is going to kill me because he sees a huge boost in his popularity at school if I play her.’”

The strong woman you missed.
“I did this movie .45 that kind of never saw the light of day, it went straight to DVD. I really connected with this character who was a victim of domestic violence but ends up taking control. I think a lot more women today are taking control as opposed to being the kind of stereotypical female who’s weepy and gets abused by men. Women are more educated now about abuse. It’s not like it was in the ’80s. I think they’re much more in control of all aspects of their lives.”

I distinctly remember promising you some .45 clips a while back. Well, here they are, 14 site-exclusive video clips of Milla as Kat in Gary Lennon’s crime drama of 2006, co-starring Angus Macfadyen, Aisha Tyler, Steven Dorff and Sarah Strange. Please keep in mind that the clips contain raunchy language, and are thus not suitable for everyone.

Personally, I’m not a huge fan of the film itself — the subject matter and the way it is presented is all simply too much for my liking — but Milla delivers a truly great performance (one of her best, in fact), and thus the film’s worth a look, if only for Milla (and the equally excellent Macfadyen and Strange). Anyway, enjoy the clips and don’t forget to register and/or log in to the media archive to access them!

To make up for the recent delay in updates (as caused by the server move), I’ve updated the gallery with tons of miscellaneous photos, many of which have been sent to me as contributions throughout the year. The new photos include scans, clippings, the .45 screen captures and promo footage we lost in the June ‘08 server crash, photoshoot outtakes and whatnot. A huge thank you for many of these goes to Liz, dummy, Maria and Mirik!

Onto the Milla news we’ve missed — which isn’t much — during our few weeks of open hiatus. Mainly, there’s been new magazine and advertisement media on Milla of late. For starters, Milla graces the September 2008 issues of Cookie (US) and Lucky (US) magazines, of which scans of the latter have been uploaded to the gallery, thanks to the ever wonderful Liz. If anyone is able to send in scans of Milla and baby Ever’s Cookie feature, please get in touch, as I am unable to obtain this issue in my country. Thank you! Meanwhile, enjoy these gorgeous medium-res Cookie photoshoot outtakes.

The ever lovely Liz has once again sent in new Milla media. It would seem Milla is briefly featured in the June 2008 issue of Italian Vanity Fair, and Liz was kind enough to send in a stunning scan of it. The photograph was presumably taken on the day of her Dolce & Gabbana party appearance in Cannes; you’ll notice she is wearing the same dress and jewelry.

In other news, Milla’s official site recently posted some new and positively adorable photos of Milla and daughter Ever Gabo Anderson. Check them out at MillaJ.com!

Finally, look forward to more Milla media goodies these coming days, as .45 has (finally) reached DVD store shelves in my country. Stay tuned!
