Lots of small but interesting Milla movie news today!
First off, IGN has exclusively revealed a second poster for Resident Evil: Afterlife, the upcoming fourth installment in the popular zombie film franchise starring Milla Jovovich. What do you think? Personally, this one has a lot more oomph than the first poster from a couple of weeks ago.
In Faces in the Crowd news, filming for the Julien Magnat directed thriller, in which Milla portrays the face-blind Anna Marchant, has now wrapped in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. A couple of pictures from the private wrap party as well as another new behind-the-scenes pic have been uploaded to the gallery. The Winnipeg Free Press has also a very interesting interview with Milla and director Magnat regarding the production of the film. Some excerpts:
“I have to be dealing with it in a way like (Anna) does,” says Jovovich during a brief break from the shoot. “It just becomes very different to have so many different faces everywhere. They all look similar, but they’re all very different.” She says she’s grateful Magnat didn’t exercise the option of employing a single actor for each part and distorting his or her face with visual effects. “This is definitely one of those movies where special effects and CGI would be wasted,” she says, “because it would almost take away from my performance. The fact that I’m not comfort able with (a procession of actors playing the same role) helps me a lot.”
[...] “She’s a sweet person and she doesn’t know how to use a gun,” Jovovich says of Anna. “I’ve never really played a character like this before — a normal girl dealing with these abnormal circumstances. And I’ve never done a movie like this before,” she says. “I think conceptually, it’s really cool. It’s a thriller but it’s a thriller that’s esthetically really interesting. It looks so different.”
[...] “I’ve never worked so many nights on a film, so it’s been kind of crazy to have a two-and-a half year old with you and be working nights,” she says, referring to her daughter Ever with husband (and Resident Evil director) Paul W.S. Anderson. “The schedule has been trying for everybody,” she says. “But when you don’t have kids, you can go home and sleep and wake up a half an hour be fore your call. But when you have kids, you come home and it’s full-on. She’s just bouncing off the walls and I’ve got to be there with her. It’s tough shooting that late but I’m just so blessed that I can have my daughter here and spend so much time with her,” Jovovich says.
Finally, Milla’s official site has confirmed the untitled “Russian” movie Milla tweeted about last week as Kolotilov. This means The Winter Queen is still off the schedule for Milla. Bad Luck remains unconfirmed by the site for the time being, even though director Ellis apparently confirmed Milla’s involvement in the film in a recent interview with Moviehole. Go figure. Anyway, we’ll be updating our list of upcoming productions for Milla with the new films asap!

A couple of weeks ago we reported about a rumor that Milla Jovovich might be starring in director David R. Ellis’ thriller Bad Luck. Well, it appears Ellis has now confirmed Milla’s involvement in an interview with Moviehole.net:
After Shark Night, Ellis is booked to do War Monkeys, based on the comic of the same name, a thriller with Star Wars actor Hayden Christensen, and something ‘fun’ with Milla Jovovich.
‘‘War Monkeys is a fun script and, I guess you’d say, has a Snakes on a Plane-vibe about it. People haven’t seen Monkeys with guns!”, he says. “I also have a great script called Genesis Code with Hayden Christensen and another titled Bad Luck with Milla Jovovich. And there’s several others.”
The $30 million dollar horror Bad Luck, headlined by Resident Evil star Jovovich, tells of a group of friends find their lives changed when the superstitions they don’t believe in begin to come true.
Milla’s also been tweeting lately about another new film that she’ll be doing post-Faces in the Crowd:
well,1 more week 2 go on “faces in the crowd” and then its home 4 a few days b4 going off 2 moscow 2 do a friend’s russian film!crazy year!
@Joy4fools no, I’m working on a film w friends Timur Behkmambetov who’s producing and Ivan Urgant who’s playing my boyfriend called “kulotilov”!
Could this be the much-delayed Winter Queen? Or something entirely new? We don’t know – yet. Stay tuned for updates.

Filming continues on the Winnipeg set of Julien Magnat’s Faces in the Crowd. Following her brief appearance at this year’s Cannes Film Festival in France, and a day of shooting for L’Oréal in Paris, Milla Jovovich flew quickly back to Canada and has continued tweeting excitedly from the set of the upcoming thriller:

Woah! Sorry “peggers”! Lol! My bad! And its the gorgeous white bridge close 2 the forks!
The first photos from the various sets of the film are also beginning to surface online. ChrisD.ca for example has a couple of very interesting pictures (in which no actors are discernible, however) from the Esplanade Riel pedestrian bridge in St. Boniface, the “white bridge” where Milla says shooting will be ongoing for the next couple of nights. According to the article, scenes are also being shot at the Norwood Community Centre. Writer/director Magnat has also posted a couple of great pictures from shooting the film on his Facebook page, here and here. Two new set photos of Milla have been uploaded to our gallery.
According to the movie press release published on Bloody-Disgusting.com, principal photography will wrap June 13. Milla stars in Faces in the Crowd as face-blind woman Anna Marchant opposite Julian McMahon, Michael Shanks, Sarah Wayne Callies, Anthony Lemke, Marianne Faithfull, Sandrine Holt and Valentina Vargas.
