Milla to attend 2008 Spike TV Scream Awards

Fantastic news, everyone! According to Spike TV’s press release, Milla will be making an appearance at the 2008 Spike TV Scream Awards on October 18! Many thanks to Dale for the heads-up! From the Spike TV press release, via SuperHeroHype.com:

Additionally, Spike TV has announced fresh talent added to this year’s star-studded roster. Appearing at “SCREAM 2008″ will be Malin Akerman, Selma Blair, Jon Favreau, Michael C. Hall and the cast of “Dexter,” Milla Jovovich, Jaime King, Frank Miller and Paz Vega, along with previously announced talent Kristen Bell, Julie Benz, Darren Lynn Bousman, Thomas Dekker, Guillermo Del Toro, Summer Glau, Samuel L. Jackson, Doug Jones, Kerli, Stan Lee, The Osbournes, Jared Padelecki, Ron Perlman, Amanda Righetti, Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Seann William Scott, Kevin Smith, Liv Tyler, Gerard Way and Rob Zombie. Many more to be announced shortly.

The third annual televised event tapes Saturday, October 18 at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles, CA and premieres Tuesday, October 21 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on Spike TV.

Milla is the new face of Derimod

Great news, everyone! It would seem Chilean department store Paris is not the only company Milla is fronting this year, as new photos of Milla appearing in the Fall/Winter 2008-2009 campaign of Turkish clothing company Derimod have surfaced online.

As of yet, I don’t have a lot of information to share with you on the company or Milla’s involvement in their newest ad campaign. However, Hurriyet.com.tr has what looks like a Turkish-language article on Milla alongside the first photos from the Fall/Winter campaign — if anyone would be willing to translate the article for us, please get in touch! Milla in ‘El Mercurio’ (Cl) August 2008 issue

Things have been fairly quiet with Milla for a time now, but today we have at last some news. Milla is apparently featured in the August 2008 of Chilean magazine El Mercurio in a brand new photoshoot. If anyone is able to send in scans of this issue, please do so, as I am unable to obtain this magazine in my country. Thank you!

The photoshoot seems to have been photographed in the same environment as Milla’s recent Paris commercial, but I could be wrong. At any rate, four medium-res outtakes of the shoot have been added to the gallery. Fans proficient in Spanish might also be interested in the magazine’s article, available at ElMercurio.com. New Paris Spring-Summer 2009 ad campaign

It would seem Milla’s continues as the face of Chilean department store Paris in their Spring/Summer 2009 ad campaign! TeQuieroAsi.cl has some beautiful new photos from the shoot as well as an English-language video interview with Milla, a behind the scenes-clip from the shoot itself and a Milla Windows screensaver.

Do check out the video interview (at TeQuieroAsi.cl, under “entrevista”) with Milla, in which she discusses motherhood, her simultaneous careers in modeling and acting, and also briefly mentions A Perfect Getaway and The 4th Kind. The behind the scenes-clip (at TeQuieroAsi.cl, under “making off”) is also worth checking out, as it contains among other things a lot of unseen outtakes from the shoot. I’m also pretty sure that’s fiancé Paul W.S. Anderson you see briefly in the background in the grayscale on set-footage of Milla. If anyone is able to find a clip of Milla’s Spanish-language Paris commercial set in these surroundings, please get in touch! Thank you.

Milla in ‘Lucky’ (US) and ‘Cookie’ (US) September ‘08 issues

To make up for the recent delay in updates (as caused by the server move), I’ve updated the gallery with tons of miscellaneous photos, many of which have been sent to me as contributions throughout the year. The new photos include scans, clippings, the .45 screen captures and promo footage we lost in the June ‘08 server crash, photoshoot outtakes and whatnot. A huge thank you for many of these goes to Liz, dummy, Maria and Mirik!

Onto the Milla news we’ve missed — which isn’t much — during our few weeks of open hiatus. Mainly, there’s been new magazine and advertisement media on Milla of late. For starters, Milla graces the September 2008 issues of Cookie (US) and Lucky (US) magazines, of which scans of the latter have been uploaded to the gallery, thanks to the ever wonderful Liz. If anyone is able to send in scans of Milla and baby Ever’s Cookie feature, please get in touch, as I am unable to obtain this issue in my country. Thank you! Milla in ‘Vanity Fair’ (It) June 2008 issue

The ever lovely Liz has once again sent in new Milla media. It would seem Milla is briefly featured in the June 2008 issue of Italian Vanity Fair, and Liz was kind enough to send in a stunning scan of it. The photograph was presumably taken on the day of her Dolce & Gabbana party appearance in Cannes; you’ll notice she is wearing the same dress and jewelry.

In other news, Milla’s official site recently posted some new and positively adorable photos of Milla and daughter Ever Gabo Anderson. Check them out at MillaJ.com!

Finally, look forward to more Milla media goodies these coming days, as .45 has (finally) reached DVD store shelves in my country. Stay tuned!

First Samsonite Black Label ad, with Paul

Whoa! We finally have a first look at Milla’s advertisement campaign for Samsonite Black Label - and it’s absolutely gorgeous! You’ll notice fiancé, director Paul W.S. Anderson standing in the background; personally, I love the idea of them both appearing in the same ad. A huge thank you to the ever wonderful Liz for sending in this gem!

Oh, and in case you are wondering whatever happened to our calendars, they will return. In July. Sorry guys, entrance exams take priority this Spring!… and June.
