Just a quick heads-up to everyone that I’ve now successfully restored all of the new L’Oréal, Paris and 2008 Cannes Film Festival media and Milla fan art which we lost in the recent server crash. Obviously, the actual updates are beyond restoration, but the material itself has been re-uploaded. Check them all out at our gallery and media archive! I still have 1700+ .45 screen captures left to re-add, and will do so soon with a bunch of brand new video clips of Milla in the film. Stay tuned!

I’m in the process of re-uploading the material posted in June, which we lost in the recent, unexpected server crash. These include the L’Oréal-media, Cannes Film Festival-videos, .45 footage, various livejournal icons, Paris ad campaign photos, and June’s most significant Milla news. Please be patient with me! Women’s Wear Daily has lots of great details on Milla and fiancé (not husband, as the article — and the English language advert, strangely enough — claims) Paul’s newly released ad campaign for Samsonite Black Label (which, by the way, rocks my socks), including news on an upcoming event Milla (and Paul?) will be attending. From WWD.com:

Everybody is working for the weekend. Or so believes Samsonite Black Label, which is launching a new ad campaign with model, musician, actress and designer Milla Jovovich and her husband Paul Anderson. The photos, taken by photographer Norman Jean Roy, show the couple pausing by a car on Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles along with their travel gear from the new Samsonite Black Label Weekend Collection. The campaign will run until the end of August in magazines and newspapers across Europe, Asia and Latin America. Jovovich will be present at a launch event for the collections this month in L.A.

The ever lovely Liz has once again sent in new Milla media. It would seem Milla is briefly featured in the June 2008 issue of Italian Vanity Fair, and Liz was kind enough to send in a stunning scan of it. The photograph was presumably taken on the day of her Dolce & Gabbana party appearance in Cannes; you’ll notice she is wearing the same dress and jewelry.

In other news, Milla’s official site recently posted some new and positively adorable photos of Milla and daughter Ever Gabo Anderson. Check them out at MillaJ.com!

Whoa! We finally have a first look at Milla’s advertisement campaign for Samsonite Black Label - and it’s absolutely gorgeous! You’ll notice fiancé, director Paul W.S. Anderson standing in the background; personally, I love the idea of them both appearing in the same ad. A huge thank you to the ever wonderful Liz for sending in this gem!

Oh, and in case you are wondering whatever happened to our calendars, they will return. In July. Sorry guys, entrance exams take priority this Spring!… and June.

Despite the film not winning the Golden Palm, since its Cannes Film Festival premiere on May 24, there’s been a lot of new coverage on The Palermo Shooting and Milla available online. Here’s our small compilation of news and media related to Milla’s part in the film.

Kicking things off with new media, because we all love new media, don’t we? First off, we have the very first hi-res promotional still of Milla in the film, and she looks fantastic! Milla’s segment was shot in Germany shortly after the late September 2007 Resident Evil: Extinction world premiere, hence the noticeable baby bump. Furthermore, Liz was kind enough to send in some small screen captures of a clip from the film; the clip itself is currently available for viewing on YouTube.

In some less pleasing news, Variety critic Todd McCarthy caught the film onscreen in Cannes — and, unfortunately, wasn’t impressed, citing the film as being “nicely shot,” but suffering “from being both pretentious and inconsequential.” Milla is barely mentioned, and only as being “very pregnant.” You can read the review in its entirety at Variety.com.
