Media section overhaul - contributions wanted!

I have at last been able to take some time to go through the media contributions I have gotten of late (for which I am eternally grateful to you guys, btw! You know who you are), and have decided that the multimedia section of Milla Fan is in dire need of a revamp. I’m thus currently in the process of constructing a brand new media archive, with hundreds of Milla-related fan art pieces and brand new, site exclusive video clips (which I’ve been sitting on for months). However, in order to create as extensive a media source on Milla as possible, I’ll be needing your help. :)

I’m currently gathering new Milla fan art and videos, and if you are sitting on any Milla fan art or video clips, and would be willing to help me out, I would appreciate it very much. Naturally, you would be fully credited for your work. Here’s what I’m looking for:

• Milla-related videos; talk show clips, interviews, public appearance clips, on set-footage, movie- and TV episode clips, music videos, commercials etc. Basically, any video clips featuring Milla!
• Milla-related fan art; livejournal icons, desktops, drawings/paintings, vectors/vexels, blends, collages, calendars, colorizations, photo manipulations, faux posters… you name it, I’m open to suggestions!

Out of town September 9-16 2007!

Gosh, what a time to go on holiday, I know, but I wasn’t in charge of setting the date. Unfortunately, I will be heading out of town (to Italy, actually) for a period of seven days, during which it is highly unlikely that I will be able to update Milla Fan. If I can, I will try and pop in in case there’s a big Milla-related event, but - I can’t make any promises. Either way, I’ll be back next Sunday, on September 16, just in time for the September 19 world premiere of Resident Evil: Extinction! However, due to me being unable to answer any emails in this time, gallery registrations will be closed for the week. They’ll be back next Sunday. Apologies for the inconvenience this may cause. :/

Either way there seems to be no notable talk show appearances coming up for any of the cast of Resident Evil: Extinction next week - I don’t know when the Moviefone Unscripted session with Milla and Ali Larter will be put online. However, a new photoshoot with Milla has surfaced online - if anyone can get these untagged I’d appreciate it very much. :) I also added another L.A. Times outtake to the gallery. More media updates (a lá my lovely contributors) when I get back! :)

Brand spanking new design + Site of the Month!

At last! I rid myself of that green thing I once called a design, and made a new one. For this design I used one of my dearest Milla photoshoots, namely Photoshoot #022. The coding was a pain, though, so apologies if it looks awry in any browser of yours (although I did test it in IE6 and Safari). I hope you like the new look! :)

Furthermore, the wonderful Mycah and Riikka of the excellent Glamour Reese Witherspoon have chosen to feature Milla Fan as their September 2007 Site of the Month! *_* This is actually Milla Fan’s first award - thank you, ladies, what an honor! :D Below is what they had to say on the site:

Launch of Milla Fan ‘Resident Evil: Extinction’ Special!

I promised I would deliver this weekend, and deliver I have. For the past month I’ve been working on a Milla Fan Resident Evil: Extinction Special Feature to celebrate the September 21 release of the final instalment in the trilogy, and here it is at last - a Resident Evil: Extinction mini site, dedicated to Milla’s portrayal of Alice in the film trilogy. The feature includes:

• Cast and crew biographies and basic information

Milla Fan celebrates its 1st anniversary!

Gosh, it’s only been a year since Milla Fan opened, but it feels like ten! :D Exactly one year ago I opened this humble tribute of mine to the amazing Ukranian goddess Milla Jovovich, and in one year it has become a much larger and popular resource on Milla than I had ever imagined! Granted, there have been some bumps on the road - especially regarding re-posting scans and captures - but the site has lived through the year nonetheless, and hopefully will live through another one. :)

I would like to thank my lovely visitors for making the site worth running, and especially my lovely frequent media contributors Mycah, Maria, Kate, Mirik and Dale for making the site what it is today. *hugs tight*

New design and news script!

It was high time for a change, lovelies. Welcome to version 5 of Milla Fan! :) And yes, amazingly enough, the text is actually readable, haha. The pictures used are from this lovely photoshoot, which was once donated to us by the ever amazing Mycah of Glamour Reese. <3 I also thought it appropriate to at last switch news scripts, as the previous one was being excessively spammed. The Milla Fan news blog is now powered by the ever nifty Wordpress!

I will be revamping Milla Fan throughout the course of the Summer. There will be some content revising as well as new content, and as I’m sure you’ll notice, the gallery has already undergone some minor changes. I have other projects that need taking care of, though, so this will take its time - I have another two sites in queue for a revamp as well as a whole new site coming up. I’ll keep you posted. ;) Meanwhile, do share your thoughts on the new design!

Concerning scans and captures!…

… okay, I’ve been seeing this happen for a long while now, and it’s making me rather weary. Milla Fan was created as a new home for Milla Jovovich fans, an alternative source of sorts, since I have rather extensive media resources. However, it was not created as a Milla media resource for other websites. I don’t mind if some appearance pictures of mine are posted at another website, I really don’t - but I am rather miffed that when I kindly (though explicitly!) ask you not to redistribute my original scans and movie screen captures in exchange for untagged, unwatermarked HQs, my requests are wholly disregarded.

This has been going on for months, and it sucks the life out of running this website, really. I’ve been in touch with the website owners in question, who have assured me that the content has been donated, leading to no other conclusion that some people are redistributing MF media though I have clearly asked you not to do so.
