Resident Evil: Afterlife is the fourth installment in the popular Resident Evil zombie film franchise, and the first Resident Evil to be directed by series’ screenwriter Paul W.S. Anderson since the original, 2002 film. Loosely based on the video games, the film will center upon Milla Jovovich’s protagonist Alice, a former Umbrella special op who’s developed supernatural strength and abilities after being subjected to involuntary T-virus experimentation by the multinational corporate giant, Umbrella.
While rumors of a fourth Resident Evil have circulated since the box office success of Resident Evil: Extinction (2007) became evident, it was generally viewed that Milla Jovovich’s return to the franchise would be unlikely, if not impossible. In July 2008, however, director Anderson not only confirmed to io9 that another sequel was being planned, but also hinted at Milla being interested in reprising Alice once more:
We’re in very early discussions about all of it, so it’s not a definite thing by any means. Milla would like to return, and I would certainly like to see the franchise continue.
Milla’s reprisal of Alice was confirmed by official sources in July 2009.
It has been announced that Afterlife will be the first film in the franchise to be released in 3D. Filming began in Toronto, Canada in October 2009 and wrapped up mid-December. Milla tweeted diligently about the production of the film via her verified Twitter account @MillaJovovich throughout filming in Toronto. Sony Screen Gems is currently eyeing a September 2010 U.S. theatrical release; a first trailer, official site and promotional stills surfaced online in April 2010.

Stone is the latest film from The Painted Veil-director John Curran. Based on a play by Angus MacLachlan, the film stars Milla Jovovich as Lucetta, the beautiful wife of convicted arsonist “Stone”.
Milla Jovovich’s involvement in the film was confirmed in May 2009, shortly after which filming began in Michigan, and she has since discussed the production in select interviews. From ShockTillYouDrop.com:
It’s a psychological drama. I think they’re trying to sell it as a thriller ’cause it’s easier to sell, but it’s not much of like a mystery or whodunit or a chase sequence or anything like that. It’s pretty much a story about people that in a sense are living their lives and how truthfully can you live your life? In a sense, that if you live a life, you could live a life for many years, but at some point your world is going to explode around you so it’s pretty intense.
From Maxim (US), September 2009:
You’ve also got a movie coming out called Stone that stars Robert De Niro and Ed Norton. Nice job!
Yes I just finished filming that. It was such an incredible project, and I was so happy to get it. I worked really hard for the part… I had to do some really intense auditioning with Edward and Bob.Isn’t it great to be able to call him Bob?
It really is. The first time I met him, he said, “Oh, call me Bob.” I was like, “Oh, sure!” Then when I got the part, I literally started crying. People ask, “What are some of the high points of your life?” Number one would have to be the birth of my daughter, but number two would be this movie.
Filming has since wrapped, and Stone is now in post-production, with an eye on a Fall 2010 U.S. release. An “R-rated” trailer for the film surfaced online in September 2009.

Plot Outline:
Fact-based thriller involving an ongoing unsolved mystery in Alaska, where one town has seen an extraordinary number of unexplained disappearances during the past 40 years and there are accusations of a federal cover up. (Credit: Internet Movie Database)
The Fourth Kind marks the directorial debut of Olatunde Osunsanmi. According to the filmmakers, the film, the title of which refers to the fourth kind of alien contact – abduction, mixes actual, archived footage with a dramatized “reenactment” of a series of mysterious events in Nome, Alaska. Milla Jovovich stars as Dr. Abigail “Abbey” Tyler, a psychologist investigating the strange experiences and disappearances of Nome residents.
Filming of The Fourth Kind took place in Bulgaria, Europe in June 2008, and has since wrapped. Milla talked about the film to ShockTillYouDrop.com in August 2009
It’s based on a true story and it’s a psychological thriller. It’s really scary at times because you really feel the emotional breakdown of this woman and there’s a lot of really strange disappearances that have going on in this small town in Alaska. She gets involved and in a sense loses her mind from everything. It was an interesting character to play just to be able to get in the mind frame of a totally normal person that could believe completely abnormal things because of trauma and stress.
Trailer and TV spots for the film began surfacing online in July 2009; HD screen captures, promotional stills and posters are available at our gallery. The Fourth Kind premiered in U.S. theaters November 6 2009, to a largely critical audience. The film is now available on North American and European DVD.

The Winter Queen is a fictional historical Russian crime drama from Total Recall-director Paul Verhoeven, in which Milla Jovovich was previously set to star as Amalia Bezhetskaya. Although previously confirmed by official sources, due to numerous scheduling conflicts delaying production, it is now uncertain whether Milla and director Verhoeven will be joining forces for this movie.
The Winter Queen has been in the works since 2007, but was first pushed back with the announcement of Milla’s pregnancy in April 2007. Since then, due to one scheduling conflict after another, production has been postponed to later dates, and is now simply “on hold”, with no official word on whether or not this project will be happening at all.
In the Summer of 2009, it was beginning to look increasingly unlikely that either Milla or director Verhoeven were pursuing the project. In an August 2009 interview with ShockTillYouDrop.com Milla had the following to say about the movie:
Also, were you going to work with Paul Verhoeven at one point?
No, not at this point. We were trying to get a script called The Winter Queen off the ground for the last few years which didn’t really happen, so I think Paul’s going to move on and do something else.
However, Screen Daily reported in February 2010 that production would resume with new director Fyodor Bondarchuk onboard. The article further implied that Milla Jovovich is still signed for the project, but she has at this point not confirmed it.

Keep Coming Back is renowned actor William H. Macy’s directorial debut. Milla Jovovich is set to star in the film as Krystal, an alcoholic former stripper.
Film and entertainment news website Variety was able to confirm Milla Jovovich’s involvement already in November 2008, however production has since been delayed due to financial concerns. According to The Qatar Tribune (August 2009), financing again fell through for the film, but that production in 2010 is still on the plate:
“I’ve been working with William Macy for a year, trying to get his film off the ground,” Jovovich says. “The money just fell through again. Maybe we’ll do it next year.”
In November 2009, the film’s Internet Movie Database-page was updated, saying production had been rescheduled for January 2010. However, in late February 2010, Milla Jovovich herself updated her Twitter account @MillaJovovich and confirmed the film has been taken off schedule:
william h. macy is in [Dirty Girl] too which is so gr8 cause we were supposed to do a film together that he was gonna direct which didn’t happen.
