Resident Evil writer-director and Milla’s fiancé Paul W.S. Anderson recently discussed the possibility of a fourth installment in the Resident Evil film franchise with MTV:
Resident Evil: Extinction, the third video-game to big screen adaptation in the popular series will likely not be the last, Anderson said, although talks for a fourth film are still in the very earliest stages of development. “I’m just starting to talk to Sony about it,” Anderson confessed. “I don’t even know if anything will come of it, but there’s a possibility it might happen.”
It would seem like a sure thing given the ending of Extinction, which saw Alice (Milla Jovovich) beside herself with rage — literally, thanks to hundreds of perfect clones - promising to travel to the Umbrella Corporation’s headquarters in Japan. But Anderson, who scripted the first three films, says a concrete story hasn’t yet been decided upon. In fact, it’s coming up with a plausible, kick-ass story that’s momentarily holding him up.
“I love the Resident Evil franchise and we always try to make the best possible movie we can. If we could find a good Resident Evil 4 to make, then we would do it,” he said. “But I wouldn’t just do it for the sake of it, that’s for sure.”

As I’m sure many of you noticed, we recently experienced several days of server downtime, which could’ve ended much worse than it did. Unfortunately, because the server crashed, we’ve lost a lot of our recent content additions and updates (most of June’s site changes, really), which will take a while to recollect. If anyone has e.g. the recently posted L’Oréal photos (scans, caps), Paris outtakes or Cannes videos I’d posted on the site saved on their hard drive, please consider sending them in. It would save me a lot of time and effort. Thank you.

Women’s Wear Daily has lots of great details on Milla and fiancé (not husband, as the article — and the English language advert, strangely enough — claims) Paul’s newly released ad campaign for Samsonite Black Label (which, by the way, rocks my socks), including news on an upcoming event Milla (and Paul?) will be attending. From WWD.com:
Everybody is working for the weekend. Or so believes Samsonite Black Label, which is launching a new ad campaign with model, musician, actress and designer Milla Jovovich and her husband Paul Anderson. The photos, taken by photographer Norman Jean Roy, show the couple pausing by a car on Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles along with their travel gear from the new Samsonite Black Label Weekend Collection. The campaign will run until the end of August in magazines and newspapers across Europe, Asia and Latin America. Jovovich will be present at a launch event for the collections this month in L.A.
Keep your eyes peeled for new photos!

Despite the film not winning the Golden Palm, since its Cannes Film Festival premiere on May 24, there’s been a lot of new coverage on The Palermo Shooting and Milla available online. Here’s our small compilation of news and media related to Milla’s part in the film.
Kicking things off with new media, because we all love new media, don’t we? First off, we have the very first hi-res promotional still of Milla in the film, and she looks fantastic! Milla’s segment was shot in Germany shortly after the late September 2007 Resident Evil: Extinction world premiere, hence the noticeable baby bump. Furthermore, Liz was kind enough to send in some small screen captures of a clip from the film; the clip itself is currently available for viewing on YouTube.
In some less pleasing news, Variety critic Todd McCarthy caught the film onscreen in Cannes — and, unfortunately, wasn’t impressed, citing the film as being “nicely shot,” but suffering “from being both pretentious and inconsequential.” Milla is barely mentioned, and only as being “very pregnant.” You can read the review in its entirety at Variety.com.
I think that might be all for the moment in The Palermo Shooting area of things. More media coming up, hopefully already sometimes next week! Stay tuned.

It has come to my attention that, while in Cannes, Milla was photographed for unknown issues of Premiere and Telerama magazines (both presumably French mags). Please stay on the lookout for these issues, and if anyone is able to send in some scans, it would be most appreciated; I would love to see any new photos in hi-res, as I’m sure others would, too. Thank you.
In other news, it would seem Milla has won the Spike TV “Guy’s Choice” Award for Fiercest Female for her Resident Evil work. In the category, Milla was up against Summer Glau of The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Congrats, Milla! The award show was held yesterday in Los Angeles - no word yet on whether Milla was there to attend it.
Milla Jovovich vs. Summer Glau
If you like it rough, these are the women for you. Go ahead… choose your favorite lethal lady.
Update: Since no new photos have surfaced, I think we are safe to assume Milla was not present at the Guy’s Choice Awards in L.A. (rather unsurprisingly, since she’s had a lot of other things going on this month anyway).
